Mechanical Architect Flow & Thermal

Full time
PhD
Eindhoven

In this role, you support our customers in the high tech industry with developing cutting-edge equipment, both in the Brainport region and internationally. Together with experts in mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, software and mathematics you will bring high-tech solutions to life, such as advanced lithography machines, compact electron microscopes or medical devices that automate human tissue analysis.

What excites you as a Mechanical Architect Flow & Thermal

From our location in Eindhoven and occasionally at our clients' premises you:

  • Collaborate closely with other architects, the project manager and the design team, to ensure that the right level of performance is reached against minimum cost, effort and risk
  • Translate customer needs into specifications, define the F&T architecture, set up budgets and conceptual designs of (sub)systems. You specify tests and integration requirements to ‘close the V cycle’.
  • Know how to set up and execute a modeling and analysis strategy and translate outcomes to system performance.
  • Ensure that the final hardware meets the applicable (safety) standards and that quality is assured.
  • Manage your stakeholders, lead by example and encourage your team to take ownership of their deliverables.
  • Actively build both internal and external networks, fostering relationships that contribute to the growth and success of the organization.
  • Are at the forefront of introducing new technologies and solutions, driving innovation, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

Your future workplace

This is what you bring to the table

You recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • A Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Physics
  • A proven track record with at least 10 years of experience in the F&T field within high-tech system and/or equipment design
  • Ability to operate at different levels of abstraction from in depth technical considerations up to the highest level of architectural decisions
  • A broad orientation. You know how your F&T expertise fits in the larger multi-disciplinary context.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Skilled in the use of various modeling and analysis methods.
  • Experience with (standard) F&T components definition and selection
