As a Project Leader Applied Physics & Mathematics you are responsible for the successful realization of challenging projects in our Mathware department.

In this role you play a pivotal role in steering project teams toward delivering impactful solutions for our clients. At Mathware we have a passion for modelling in the areas of simulation, image analysis and smart data analysis. You’ll lead collaborative efforts between top-tier mathematicians, physicists, and econometricians, ensuring that technical excellence aligns with client needs. You’ll help translate complex challenges into breakthrough results, from deep learning that supports tumor margin detection, to optimizing packaging logistics for online orders.

  • Being end-to-end responsible for projects from initiation to delivery.
  • Collaborating with a group of the smartest and most enthusiastic specialists out there in small teams (approximately 3 people each).
  • Managing 5 or more small-sized (up to 6 months) to medium-sized (over 1 year) R&D projects centered on innovation
  • Taking the responsibility to successfully complete these projects by playing a central role in communication between the customer and the team and in achieving customer satisfaction
  • Serve as the essential link between customers and teams, ensuring clear communication and successful project outcomes.
  • Comprehend the business cases behind each project and proactively anticipate and address changes in organization, technology, and project scope.
  • Steering feasibility studies based on several unknowns, often maneuvering in uncharted territory.
  • Effortlessly juggling the regular time-budget-functionality triangle for the whole portfolio.

Your future workplace

What do you bring to the table?

  • You have a technical degree at a higher professional or university education level
  • You have experience in algorithm development for high-tech systems and at least 4 years of experience as a project leader or a team leader
  • You have demonstrable experiences with Agile and Scrum
  • With a pragmatic approach you monitor quality while maintaining an eye on operational excellence and company’s processes
  • You excel at motivating teams, assigning the right people to the right tasks, and empowering engineers to perform at their best
  • You are able to play a solid bridging role between the customer and the technical team.
  • You are able to deal with the customers’ ever-changing requirements and at the same time, you are able to find a balance between relenting and sticking to agreements
  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, and you have excellent communication skills
