As a Strategic Buyer you will drive the mechanics commodity strategy from scratch and supplier relationships, ensuring smooth supply chain operations.

What excites you as a Strategic Buyer

In our fast-growing organization your focus as a Strategic Buyer is twofold:
  • Set-up and maintain the mechanics commodity strategy with relevant cross-functional stakeholders. The goal is to secure supply chain requirements for projects and volume assembly during the various phases in the Product Creation Process (PCP).
  • Develop and maintain strategic mechanics supplier relationships.

You liaise with many internal and external stakeholders like project management, engineering, supplier quality and sales to understand and challenge the required QLTCS performance levels of the customers and internal organization.

You also:

  • Actively build-up and maintain supplier selections and optimize these relationships to enhance added value.
  • Ensure procurement of all relevant parts (including operational set-up and follow-up in ERP system) with a QLTCS optimized/negotiated performance level.
  • Ensure that project activities are in line with procurement and commodity strategy, where relevant.
  • Organize business review meetings as well as supplier scorecard performance reviews and improvement plans.
  • Drive total cost of ownership reduction, through joint price, process and productivity improvements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing and negotiating about new and existing long-term purchasing contracts with (international) suppliers in line with targets and Sioux’ needs.
  • Drive generic supplier programs, such as supplier onboarding, supplier transfer and supplier off-boarding.
  • Take care of the relevant reporting on procurement and specific KPIs.
  • Support operational buyers and project buyers to settle material cost and delivery variances.
  • Participate actively in improvement of procurement related processes/methods, such as procedures, templates, and contractual agreements.
  • Occasionally represent procurement area in project teams and execute all supply chain management related (NPI) project activities.

Your future workplace

This is what you bring to the table

  • A Bachelor of Science (technical and/or business), preferably in mechanics or mechatronics
  • NEVI 1 and 2 education or equivalent training.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in comparable function in supply chain management/procurement in the high-tech low volume industry, e.g. as commodity, project or strategic buyer.
  • Knowledge of mechanics supplier market, manufacturing processes and respective cost drivers.
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of and /or experience with business processes and its challenges.
  • Experience with supplier audits and assessments.
  • Languages: Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing; German preferred.
  • Prepared to travel for work.
