As R&D Cyber Security Software Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in embedding cybersecurity principles into the lifecycle of software systems.

You will collaborate with R&D, product management, and compliance teams to assess risks, define security requirements, and support our alignment with security regulations and standards, including NIS2, CRA, and IEC 62443.

What excites you as a R&D Cyber Security Software Engineer?

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of cyber security measures in embedded software development following the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC)
  • Assist in translating NIS2 and CRA requirements into actionable policies and controls
  • Contribute to the development of security risk assessments and threat models
  • Help define and enforce secure software development practices
  • Participate in product certifications and assessments related to IEC 62443
  • Provide input on incident response planning and security testing
  • Document security-related aspects of software designs, implementations, and test results.
  • Stay up to date with cybersecurity trends and evolving regulatory requirements
  • Design, develop, and implement secure software solutions for embedded systems, ensuring adherence to defined security architectures and best practices
  • Conduct security code reviews and static/dynamic analysis to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in software
  • Develop and maintain automated security tests and integrate them into the CI/CD pipeline
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our secure software development processes and tools
  • Document security-related aspects of software designs, implementations, and test results

Your future workplace

What do you bring to the table?

  • Master’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably in an industrial or embedded systems context
  • Familiarity with the NIS2 directive, Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and IEC 62443 standards
  • Understanding of network security, secure software development, and industrial control system (ICS) security
  • Proven experience in programming languages such as C, C++, with a strong emphasis on writing secure and efficient code for embedded environments
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) or embedded Linux
  • Solid understanding of cryptography, secure communication protocols, and authentication mechanisms
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and penetration testing techniques
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex software and security-related issues

Furthermore:

  • Fluency in English and Dutch
  • Passion for technology, security and software development
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Team player who can also work independently
